This award-winning film tells a story relayed by Annie Day, a 102 year-old English woman who remembers taking in two German prisoners of war for Christmas holiday at the height of the Second World War. After learning from her young son that she could entertain nearby POWs for Christmas dinner, she opened her home and shared her wartime rations. Following a surprise visit from one of the prisoners many years later, the two forged a bond that lasted for decades.
Directed and produced by Kerry Kolbe.

I’ve seen this video half a dozen times, and I’m always moved by the kindness and tenderness of the characters. Imagine making friends with the enemy during wartime.
