Anxiety, anyone?
Blame the truth? Politics
can’t keep up with dysfunction.
Ditto for the costs—milk, bread,
eggs, bunker mansions—doomsday
fortresses of concrete
greed / of stockpiled ammo.
How, I wonder, to find hope
in the middle of such
juxtaposition—my liberal
kvetching? / Lucky
life? / Of course,
my refrigerator hums. And Alexa plays
news—the day’s soundbites
over and over, the shrill
provocation and the proud
quests for vengeance—
real, unbelievable raging.
Swindle-time / election
time—the blur, out of control? F***
understanding? My neighbor’s
venerable flag—upside-down, and I
want more than my vote
x’d out by his / by mobs / by SCOTUS
yawning. And so it goes? Power to the
zealots? Freedom tying nooses?

Yesterday afternoon driving home from urgent care( ok, long bad cold) I drove three blocks through a T rally. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I have flipped someone off, but I held it up for the three blocks ( Diving slowly, of course, traffic was almost stopped. That felt good, but today I awoke terrified and remembered my short time doing civil rights work in Mississippi and wondered if this is some sort of flash back of fear.

Yeah, I’m careful not to pick fights with T-supporters.

Definitely not my usual style. An old neighbor snd I help each other out, but I’m almost positive she voted for T. I plead sick and terrified.
