Here’s the Prologue to The Blessed Isle:
The Lord of Death
Mnurluuth walked through the battlefield, not bothering to step over bodies and not worrying that blood was splattering on his immaculate boots made of human skin. He could not be seen, only sensed, by the dying men. They felt Him as a gust of cold air on their faces, ice in their gut, a feeling of immense loneliness, a fear that was worse than the pain of their wounds. Some of them were calling for their mothers, others felt regret over lost love or ruined friendships. All of them wished for a few more days to say what they had always needed to say to the people they love. The Lord of Death reveled in the pain and fear. Only here in the midst of mass slaughter was He truly happy, truly Himself.
He leaned down and touched the blood on a man’s face, lifted a drop to His lips and tasted its metallic undertone. He looked up at the dozens of dragons flying overhead, breathing fire and swooping down to rake their claws over the scattered men who still stood, trying to aim the ballistas, the giant crossbows, at the dragons, but the bolts flew wildly and did little damage. And He noticed one dragon, Tyrmiss, who carried two riders, the woman known as Queen Tessia, the archer, and the man known as Norbert the Green Mage, who was throwing fireballs at the soldiers below. These two, the woman and the man, He knew well. He had been following their careers for twenty years, how they had become His own best suppliers of the dead, vendors to the Lord of Death, sending scores into the underworld covered in slashes and puncture wounds and bearing the scorched and charred skin from the fire of battle. These two, who fancied themselves as warriors for the good and true, had become two of His favorites. They would be visiting Him soon, and He would welcome them as honored guests.

Wow, Miachael. I am impressed! Can I get them for Kindle? Here in Peru I have a problem with customs and bureaucracy. So, for English books there is only Kindle for me. 😦

Oh, yes. All my novels are available as Kindle and also as Audible. My publisher tells me my novels are popular in Germany where a lot of people understand English.

Congratulations, Michael. It’s a huge achievement (he says, without having read any of them!). By my count, that is 6 books from you in about 8 years. Astonishing!
