Laurence Musgrove: All

We learn all kinds of things
Whether they are taught to us or not,

And nothing is more deeply learned than
What it means to be among our own.

We learn how to be a “We,”
An “Us,” and what’s “Ours.”

“We” also learn what holds “Us” together
And which flag is “Ours” to follow.

What “We” rarely learn is that
“Everyone” and “Everything” are also “Us.”

If only “We” were born already singing
“Our” “Us” is always “All.”
