This short documentary, created to accompany the exhibition Nick Cave: Forothermore at the Guggenheim Museum November 2022 to April 2023, presents the work of wildly imaginative artist, designer and dancer Nick Cave who expresses his liberation on the dance floor as a queer Black man. The film includes commentary by Cave and by the art scholar Meida McNeal detailing how his works incorporate elements of disco and carnival culture, and exist in response to marginalization and oppression.

What a fascinating man, dancer, aetist! Thank you for that link, Michael. Will watch it again. How an artist can “show” movement the way he does amazes me!
