William Wordsworth: My Heart Leaps Up

My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.

    Michael,

    One of my entry-point poems. In my sophomore English class I explicated the entire ode—because my teacher said it was too long and difficult. Thank you for the reminder this morning. I am looking forward to Wednesday!

      Thanks, Donna. I’m looking forward to Wednesday as well, but you and the other guests have set a high bar!
