A Message to Vox Populi Subscribers
Dear faithful and patient subscribers to Vox Populi:
We’ve had some tech problems here at Vox Populi plaza. First our connection to the server went down yesterday due to Verizon installing new lines on our street. Then when our devices went back online, the website sent out random posts that were scheduled for the next week.
So, instead of your usual two posts today, you’ve received… wait for it… EIGHT POSTS!
Strangely, Verizon sent out poetry by women and science by men… hmmm. Could the seemingly random universe actually be guilty of gender stereotyping?
Anyway…
There are wonderful poems by Miriam Levine, Yana Djin, Sally Bliumis-Dunn, Laure-Anne Bosselaar, Betsy Romero, and Connie Post. And there are also two brilliant science posts: an article about how rising seas will displace millions of people on the coasts in coming years; and a video of a year in the life of the earth photographed from geostationary orbit.
I hope you will enjoy this surfeit of beauty (and terror) brought to you today by Vox Populi and Verizon. So far, it’s been an unusual but productive partnership. And somewhat random.
And, as always, thank you for your continued support of this wacky project of bringing poetry, politics and nature to everyone everywhere for free.
