Leslie McGrath: An Insight

Your heart’s just fine

From an etherized twilight

I hear myself disagree, I don’t think so

He snorts

Look at the screen to your left

and I’m face-to-heart

with my lifelong premonition

of an imminent end–

a cumulonimbus locomotive barrels silently

in place

as my dye-darkened arteries hang on for dear life

I enjoy thinking about how the Australian doctors might have reacted to your use of the word “snorts.”
