In recent years, several media outlets have taken to calling President Obama the ‘Mourner-in-Chief’ due to the frequency with which he addresses the nation following fatal incidents of mass gun violence. In Loss, artist Dawn Kim compiles the reflective silences in Obama’s public remarks following acts of violence that have become horrifyingly routine.

So many difficult times…times when this nation needed a leader who could help guide us through the pain, the grief, the anger of such tremendous loss. President Obama was that leader. He was genuine in his grief, and I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for him to try and comfort so many while he was feeling the same pain and suffering. However, he did so, and he did so with strength, grace, dignity, and an ability to sympathize and empathize with everyone he touched with his presence.
I will forever admire and respect this great man..

Mr. Obama is an exceptionally well educated compassionate man. I was proud every day that he was in charge for eight years. I hate what’s happening now with the biggest POS in the world. I’m praying Mr. Mueller does his job and rids us of this miserable person.

Is it any wonder why President Obama has grey hair?
So much loss. So much violence. So much sadness.

It’s hard to tell us from the enemy anymore
We have become what we feared and hated most

Easily said and I understand, but there has got to be a simple solution that will amaze us in it’s ability to make a profound difference. It is probably electronic like a door lock fingerprint I can smell it and almost see it. If every university, state, Jr.college, highschool , worked together on this it will be done. Banning hand guns is my solution but people will die defending it. My President showed up and made an impact on the survivors lifes. I am very proud of this secret and I knew he had it in him. We are not the enemy and the enemy is simply sick and full of frustration and hate. The cure for that is attention and dialog. Some will include prayer, I would too but also Gandhi principles and publicized gatherings like peace marches. Once again Obama did more in one day than others will not accomplish in a year. Thank you Sir. dsc

If Obama stopped to be empathetic and sympathize with every act of violence in the US and globally: 1 He wouldn’t have time to do his work. 2. He’d be emotionally wrung out. That fact that he does stop to speak on some acts of violence and is so empathetic shows what kind of good human being he is. Don’t expect this from your president elect.

Yes this is true- however his compassion is limited it would seem to the United states. When the aid convoy in Syria was blown to pieces he said and did very little.

Were you boots on the ground? We had no idea he was killing UBA till it was done. You don’t have a need to know and be glad you don’t.
