Video: “Gimme Shelter” performed by Playing for Change

.

It is in the shelter of each other that the people live. — Irish proverb

In this elegant rendition, musicians from around the world cover the song “Gimme Shelter.”

The humanitarian foundation ”Playing for Change” is a group of street perfomers from all parts of the world. The organization’s concept is that music is a language spoken by all regardless of race or origin. Among the musicians who have participated in Playing for Change projects are some of the most popular in contemporary pop music such as: Bono Vox, Manu Chao, and the legendary blues artist Keb’ Mo’. The current members of the band include singers Clarence Bekker from Suriname, Mermens Kenkosenki from Congo and Grandpa Elliott from New Orleans. The band performs only songs that have a message of peace.
