Gobsmacked. I listened several times to the first song Big Mike’s.
It gains on a second listen. I found it interesting, with the musical dialogue between dijon and the lead guitarist a flowing duet, a happy encounter . The casual setting is notable too, decoupling the song from pure music.
I could have benefitted from subtitles, as it’s like hearing a new dialect. Though maybe subtitles would have taken me to a different part of the brain. What would a musicologist say of this as the new musical truth? Could it be opera for the future? More questions than answers these days.

Thanks, Jim. I had a similar experience listening to and watching the video. The music is hypnotic, creating a dialogue between the characters, and the director plays with our sense of reality in other ways as well. In the middle of the film, the point of view shifts to a long shot so we can see that what we thought was an apartment is actually a music studio. I admire this film for the ways it creates a new way of telling a story.
