Leaves on the wind circle in the air
Like emissaries from another world
Frantic warnings
No one heeds them, they
Push toward their usual destinations
With their everyday faces
The leaves make the street
Wonderful
Without them it would be
Entirely devoted to business
And I would feel like dying
I would have to walk up and down
Carrying a sign:
“bring back the leaves”
