Timons Esaias: Things I’m Tired of Excusing

I am tired of starships that go whoosh in space

and fighters that bank through turns in vacuum

and any device in the future that doesn’t

automatically

assess the value of reversing the polarity.

I am tired of accepting your ignorance

as the excuse

for the crap they feed me.

That goes double for stock market reports

that pretend the market “tries” to do

this and “wants” to do anything

as though it had a will

and politicians who pretend

that more is ever done

with less.

I am tired of pretending that

cooking dinner somehow fails

to heat the planet, tired

of the idea that we can

do things without consequences

tired of being told that nothing

can be done because you

the public

are not ready.

Get ready.

I am truly tired of hearing that your ignorance

is why I listen to lies

all day long.
