Doug Anderson: Belchertown

.

This old half-mad

woman who pushes

an empty baby carriage

up and down the sidewalk

in Belchertown. I realized

I’ve never looked

in her face. It is

unbearable. All of Sophocles

is there. A knife in my heart.
