Doug Anderson: Is this my hand?

Is this my hand?
I’ve been alone too long.
My body
demands its own life
apart from my mind
which deserted it long ago,
and ranges in the landscapes
of the past.
I hold it out in front of me.
Do I recognize it?
Come home, prodigal,
and sit with me. We’ll watch
the film together and laugh.

The hand reposts to Facebook. The mind is somewhere I Colorado or Utah.
