Someone, give us the strength
to survive this particular onslaught
of cell-death and other indignities,
.
to live through this special riot
of political mayhem and refugee-making,
this nonstop deforestation and sickening life-taking.
.
Help us find a way to praise the magic
of returning birds in springtime,
of hurt cells finally healing,
and of rough sleepers everywhere
soothed and cradled, loved and placated,
asleep in the right kind of arms.
