that moment the cloud comes
and stays and makes you glad
you brought a windbreaker
that moment when you know
you did this one thing right
—
you and your wife split a nosh
in a clearing
a magpie snags a crumb
and joins you two
to the mountain
—
the magpie goes and soon
the cloud and the chill
and even the mountain will go
your wife hangs her jacket
on an aspen
