Let us make a little list from our lives,
who of us got a little fame and who got
a little probation, who of us lived tame and
who recalls softly both lovers and wives.
Who lived through that awful war, and
who survived with a fake deferment?
Who put their folks in the old folks home?
Who lives with a painful childhood secret?
Who told their analyst about it all,
and who still throws dishes at the wall?
Who still goes to Mass and Confession?
Who left The Church to wed a Unitarian?
Then let us burn this list from our lives.
Let us marvel tonight at who simply survives.

I dedicate this poem to Mr. Edwin P. Roland,
who published my first poem on the bulletin
board of our homeroom on the 2nd floor.

T-Bone,
Sorry I couldn’t make the reunion and visit with everyone but enjoy reading your writings.
Stay healthy and happy.

Rory! I am so glad to hear from you. I ran into Jack Jamieson and Donna Vescovo at the reunion. You were remembered, and there in spirit.
