In this animated video by Blank on Blank, B.B. King tells the story behind the naming of his legendary guitar Lucille and talks about his attitude toward life and music.
The audio was recorded in September, 1985 by Warner Bros. manager Joe Smith.
Thanks so much for this, Michael. Great way to start the new day. I just wish the drawings of him looked more like him. I’ve danced many many times through the years to B.B. King. most recently last summer in Booneville California. Most memorable, I think, was in NYC, a midnight show on Broadway with Miles Davis, in about 1987. I’ve danced all my life to many of the greats: he’s up there. From: Vox Populi To: sharondoubiago@yahoo.com Sent: Monday, February 9, 2015 2:01 AM Subject: [New post] Video: B.B. Thanks, Sharon! I grew up in Houston, Texas where BB was a giant long before he became famous elsewhere. I too have danced to the sound of Lucille many times.
